SUMMARY:TCEQ Public Meeting: EXXON/SABIC Air Quality Permit
DESCRIPTION:Updates accompanying this event: \n\nWhat Does the TCEQ Draft Permit Allow Exxon to Emit into Our Air?\nMisleading Notice Issued By TCEQ on May 22nd Public Meeting\nWhy Should I Attend the Public Meeting on May 22nd?\n\n\nThe TCEQ has scheduled a Public Meeting on Exxon’s DRAFT Air Permit to emit pollutants\, such as sulfuric acid mist into the air.   \nSmoking ground flare in Port Arthur\, TX at BASF steam cracker plant. Saudi Exxon will also use a ground flare.\nTHE MEETING IS SCHEDULED TO COMMENCE AT 7 PM ON MAY 22ND AND WILL BE HELD AT GREGORY-PORTLAND HIGH SCHOOL IN THE CHARLOTTE BROWN PERFORMING ARTS THEATRE.  \nThe meeting will begin with an Informal Discussion Period during which citizens can direct questions to Exxon/SABIC and TCEQ staff. After the discussion period\, citizens can make formal comments for the record. \nExxon cannot build the facility unless they 1) receive an air quality permit\, and 2) obtain a permit to discharge the industrial wastewater into the bays.  At this time they have NOT received final approval on either permit. Please share notice of this meeting with all who have an interest in the quality of air we breathe.  We have already established that TCEQ Air Monitoring is inadequate on this side of the bridge. \nExcerpt from the TCEQ Notice.\n“The proposed facility will emit the following air contaminants in a significant amount: carbon monoxide\, greenhouse gases\, nitrogen oxides\, organic compounds\, and particulate matter\, including particulate matter with diameters of 10 microns or less (PM10) and 2.5 microns or less (PM2.5). In addition\, the facility will emit the following air contaminants: exempt solvents\, hazardous air pollutants\, ammonia\, ethylene oxide\, hydrogen sulfide\, sulfur dioxide\, and sulfuric acid mist.” \nYou can read the notice from TCEQ below. \n \n \n \n \n \n Loading...\n \n \n \n \n \n Taking too long?\n \n \n \n Reload document \n |\n \n Open in new tab \n \n \n \n Download [227.73 KB] \nShare this:EmailFacebookTwitter
