Tonight the Gregory-Portland ISD school board extended the deadline to vote on the 313 tax abatement until June 30th. Their counsel stated that it was because of a mixup with the County and designation of the “reinvestment zone” that would allow this parcel of land to be eligible for tax incentives. The county has to redo the designation for the reinvestment zone and do it properly. The school board wants to wait until the County gets it right.
